There will be a youth lake safety, drug awareness and gang prevention training session from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 6, for kids age 9 to 18.

The event will take place at East Fork Park on Lake Lavon.

The event is free and lunch will be provided. Participants are asked to register by Thursday, Aug. 4, organizers said.
