Children within the same family often find themselves competing on some level during their journey to adulthood.
The battle may run the gamut from snagging the last Oreo in the package to vying for an extra share of parental attention.
In some cases, it may even extend to competing for a roster spot on a varsity athletic team.
Senior Sydnie Whitworth, an outside hitter and three-year letter winner for the Lady Pirates volleyball team, welcomed younger sister Savannah to the varsity squad late last fall.
Anyone who watches them play can see the similarity in appearance, but the trait that stands out the most is the absolute enthusiasm that permeates every move the young women make. They both go all out from the moment team introductions are made to the final point of every match.
