Rozella Marie Close passed away at her Wylie residence on Feb. 5, 2013.

She was born in Waterloo, Iowa, on Jan. 5, 1951, to the late John and Nell (Yarrow) Schmitz. Rozella met the love of her life, Eugene Close, and they were married April 24, 1971, in LaPorte, Iowa.

She ran a day care out of her home for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Wylie.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Eugene Close; children, Jeffrey Martin Close and his wife Heather, Amy Michelle Welby and her husband Marc and William John Close; and her grandson, Garrett Michael Welby. Also surviving Rozella is her sister, Marilyn Dunkleburger and six brothers, Richard Schmitz, Donald Schmitz, Delbert Schmitz, Daniel Schmitz, Larry Schmitz and Joseph Schmitz.

Visitation was held at Allen Funeral Home on Feb. 8.  Rosary was also conducted Feb. 8 at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Memorial Mass was held for her at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Feb. 9, 2013, with Father Andrew Semler officiating. Burial was held Feb. 12 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
