Annie Hodges Christopher of Wylie went to be with her Lord on Jan. 9, 2013.

Annie was born Aug. 5, 1926, in Livingston, Ky., to Roland and Hannah Hodges.  She moved to Texas as a small child and grew up in the Plano/Murphy communities.

Annie married Floyd Christopher July 13, 1943, in Rockwall, and they lived their married life in the Garland and Wylie areas. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, an excellent seamstress and cook. She enjoyed embroidery and quilting and was a graduate of Dallas Beauty College and was a licensed beautician. She was a Christian and a lifetime active member of the Baptist Church.

Annie is survived by her husband, Marion Floyd Christopher of Wylie; son, James Leon Christopher and his wife Kaye of Brady; son, Troy Dale Christopher and his wife Monica Millson of Duncanville; son, David Glenn Christopher of Rockwall; daughter, Linda Janelle Shields and her husband Richard of Katy; 17 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Wayne Christopher, in 1983.

Memorial services were held at First Baptist Church Chapel in Wylie, on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, with the Rev. Al Draper officiating. Interment followed in the Wylie Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Williams Funeral Directors of Garland.
