Bobby Ross, longtime resident of Wylie, passed away at his home on Aug. 31, 2012.

He was born in Parker on May 19, 1932, to the late Douglas Cleveland (Pike) Ross and Ruth Irene (Deal) Ross.

Bobby married Betty Louise Pugh in Hugo, Okla. on Feb. 12, 1951.

He was a deputy sherriff for Collin County Sherriff’s Department and an officer for the Wylie Police Department for many years prior to his retirement.  He was a member of the Lakeview Baptist Church and Cottonwood Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty L. Ross of Wylie; his daughter, Sheila Hartman and her husband Hal of Nevada; brothers, Perry Ross of Quinlan and David Ross of Valley Falls, Kan.; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Bobby was also preceded in death by his brother, Danny Ross.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bobby Ross Memorial Fund at any American National Bank, reference Candace Ketner.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
