Iris went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Aug. 31, 2012.
She was born in Camp Springs, Scurry County, May 14, 1926, to Rochester and Jessie Whitlow Roe.
Iris and Ernie had been long-time residents of Wylie. She was employed as an assembler in an electrical plant and operated a home cleaning business in her later years. After the death of her husband in 2009, she moved to Bowie for the remainder of her life.
Iris was a member of First Baptist Church of Wylie.
She is survived by daughter, Brenda Jenkins and her husband Tom of Nocona; son, Alan Muetzenberg and his wife Donna of Little Elm; daughter, Lisa Manning of Springtown; and her brother, Wilbur Roe of Canton. She was blessed with two grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Pat; and son, Gary. She lost the love of her life, Ernie on April 27, 2009, after 65 years of marriage.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Sept. 4, at the Allen Funeral Home. Interment followed at Wylie cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
