Geneva Mae Hilliard Jensen, 86, of Dallas, died Aug. 13, 2012, in Dallas. Services were held Aug. 17 at Laurel Land Funeral Home with interment in Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas.

She was born March 18, 1926, in Altlanta, Ga., the third child of Isaac S. and Evie Lena Sprinkle Hilliard.

While working as courier for Delta Airlines, she met her future husband, Floyd Jensen, when he was a military police at Hartsfield Air Force Base in Atlanta. They married May 14, 1944, in Shreveport, La., after he was transferred to Barksdale Air Force Base. When her husband was sent overseas while stationed at Smokey Hill AFB, Salina, Kan., she moved to Atlanta, Texas, where her parents were living. Her first daughter was born in Atlanta. When her husband returned home in December 1944, they moved to Nebraska, his home. Two sons and two more daughters were born there. The family moved to Dallas in June, 1955. For a time she worked as a waitress at the Lucas B&B Restaurant where one of her regular customers was Jack Ruby, alleged assassin of Lee Harvey Oswald. She also worked as a proofreader for several years and after she retired, she did babysitting.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister at birth, brother, Walter, sister, Eunice Roush and a nephew Russell Hilliard.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Floyd; children, Ada Mooney and her husband Robert of Lavon; Merrill Jensen of Montalba; Kenneth Jensen of Hobbs, N.M.; Shirley Pool of Grand Prairie and Evelyn Silva of Italy, Texas; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-granddaughter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
