Phillip Ellis, age 50, was born April 8, 1962, and passed away on Aug. 1, 2012. 

He is survived by his wife, Renee Ellis of Mt. Vernon; daughter, Whitney Ellis of Dallas; stepson Kasey Easley of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Kayden Ellis and Ethan Easley; father, Raymond M. Ellis; step-mother, Mary Ellis; mother, Julia Solla (Housewright); sisters, Tena Gray of Royse City, Tammy Thomas of Farmersville, Lou Ann Mitchell of Richardson and Julie Zackery of Wylie;

Phillip was preceded in death by his brother, John Ellis.  

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 3, 2012, at Allen Funeral Home in Wylie. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Aug. 4, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Wylie.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home in Wylie.
