Sonny Odell George, 60, resident of Lavon, passed away in Plano on Monday, July 16, 2012.

Sonny was born in Farmersville on March 4, 1952.  His parents were the late Cledith Odell Smith and Neta George.  Sonny married Carol Coomer on Nov. 15, 1991, in Wylie.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lavon.

Survivors include his wife, Carol George of Lavon; children, Jeremy Keith George of Lavon, Craig Wayne Nix of McKinney, Jennifer Gay Clark of Little Elm, and Jeremy Bryan Nix of Lavon; brothers, Joe George of Tulsa, Okla., and Bud Smith of Wylie; sister, Lorene Rouser of Princeton; and 11 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Azalea Douglas.

Visitation for Sonny was held at Allen Funeral Home, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012. Funeral services were held at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, with Rev. Clint Bratcher officiating.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
