
Emmy Hartmann, age 80, of Wylie, went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2012.
She was born Sept.13, 1931, in Romania, to Peter and Martha Thoiss and immigrated to this country in 1950.
Mrs. Hartmann was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Plano and a founding member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Merrillville, Ind.
She is survived by her two daughters and son, Linda Houle of Wylie, Sherry Dull and her husband Robert of Greer, S.C. and Ken Hartmann of Wylie; five grandchildren, Angelle, Krystal and her husband Josh, Sierra and her husband Tommy, Bryce and Tabitha; three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Lydia and Keira; and her sister, Rose Seipelt of Merrillville, Ind.
Mrs. Hartmann loved spending time with her family, enjoyed cooking and watching sports. She will be dearly missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Richard Hartmann; son, Tommy Hartmann; brothers, Peter and Franz; and sister, Martha Blanchard.
A memorial service will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Plano. Pastor Todd Bruning will officiate.
She will be laid to rest beside her husband Carl in the Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Ind.
