Nahum Martinez of Wylie died March 31, 2012, at the age of 15.

He was born Dec. 16, 1996, in Wilmar, Minn. The Martinez family moved shortly after Nahum’s birth to their current home in Wylie.  Nahum was a freshman at Wylie East High School. “He enjoyed running track and cross country with his teammates at Wylie East. He was loved among all, loved to laugh and help others. Nahum was a kind person with a big heart. May God give him eternal rest and may his soul rest in peace,” his family members said.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Terry Martinez; sister, Ezra Martinez; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his uncle, Jose Garza.  

Relatives and friends are welcome at Allen Funeral Home of Wylie, 508 Masters Ave., Wylie, Texas 75098, for a visitation from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 5, at First Baptist Church Wylie, 100 N. 1^st St., Wylie, Texas 75098. Interment followed at Wylie Cemetery.
