Minnie Evelyn Smith, 89, passed from this life Dec. 10, 2011, in Wylie.

She was born on Nov. 4, 1922 in Locksburg, to Bryce and Carrie Dean Raley. She was a Garland resident for over 60 years.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Axe United Methodist Church in Garland.

She had worked as an accounting clerk for Electronics Data Systems and Varo Industries in Garland.

Minnie is survived by her two sons; Charles W. Smith and his wife Loretta and Glenn Smith and his wife Shelia; six grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hazel Cameron and Margaret Merritt.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd W. Smith, and grandson, Rodney Smith.

Visitation was held Sunday, Dec. 11, at Charles W. Smith and Sons in Sachse.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at Charles W. Smith and Sons Sachse Chapel. Pastor Ben Read and Pastor Tom Westbrook conducted the service.

She was laid to rest beside her husband, Floyd, in the Sachse Cemetery in Sachse.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Axe United Methodist Church Food Pantry, 1700 W. Kingsley Rd., Garland, TX 75041.
