Funeral services for Gary C. Murdock, 54, of Cushing were held Aug. 28, 2011, at the Dickie Allen Funeral Home Chapel in Cushing. Interment followed at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Martinsville.
The Rev. Ed Williamson officiated.
Mr. Murdock died Aug. 25 in Nacogdoches.
He was born Feb. 1, 1957, in Nacogdoches, to Truitt H. and Betty Lyles Murdock. He was raised in Elgin and lived in Cushing for 22 years.
He was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and worked for Kroger for 30 years as an associate manager.
He is preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Charles Boyd.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Murdock of Cushing; sons, Joe Murdock and his wife Elizabeth of Wylie and Clint Murdock and his fiancee Ava Bass of Cushing; daughters, Cristy Gatlin and her husband Dustin of Madisonville, Lindsay Murdock of Cushing and Amanda Murdock of Cushing; brothers, Robert Murdock of Alto, Marc Murdock of Alto and Greg Murdock and his wife Jeanese of Garrison; grandchildren, Tori Kuhn, Rebekah Murdock, Trinity Murdock, Brooke Gatlin, Jaelyn Kuhn and Colton Gatlin; mother-in-law, Oweda Boyd of Nacogdoches; brothers-in-law, Alan Boyd of Nacogdoches, Brent Boyd and his wife Kim of Palestine and Dwayne Boyd of Temple.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in his name to Bethany Baptist Church, 397 C.R. 945, Cushing, TX 75760.
Funeral arrangements were under the
direction of Dickie Allen Funeral Home of Cushing.
