Funeral services for Patricia Harper were held Aug. 8, 2011, at Allen Funeral Home in Wylie. Interment followed at the National Memorial in Dallas.

Mrs. Harper married the love of her life, Roger Dale Harper, June 13, 1998. She worked at Metroplex Bindry until her husband became ill.  She then stayed home and cared for him. She loved to drink Blue beers, listen to Patsy Cline and Cher, garden, sew and was an amazing cook. In the summers she cared for her grandchildren. She beat breast cancer and became a friend of Bill.

Survivors include her brothers, Doug and Fred Vaugn; sister, Desmond Samples; children, Denise Ferguseon and her husband Les of Huntington, W.V., and their children Les, Shannon, Courtnie, Hannah  Robert, and their children, Makayden, Lilli, Zayna, Makylah and Bentley; son Dennis Byrd and his wife Kristie of Austin and their children Coleton and Adrian; stepdaughter, Jeanna Harper Stubbart and her husband Eddy of Red Oak and their child, Will and his children, KayleeJo and Kayden; and stepson Arty Harper of Irving. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Vaugn. 

Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
