Funeral services for Joseph Paul McDaniel, 11, of Wylie were held July 17, 2011, at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lucas. Interment followed at Lake View Cemetery in Lavon.
The Rev. Jim Everidge officiated.
Joseph died July 14 in Dallas.
He was born Sept. 17, 1999, in Garland.
He attended Davis Intermediate School in Wylie.
Joseph was deputized as an honorary Dallas County Deputy Sheriff and Honorary Nevada Firefighter with the Nevada Fire Department.
He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church where he was a serious prayer warrior. “One of his greatest wishes was to share Jesus with others and to pray. He wanted to tell others about his savior, Jesus Christ,” his family said.
He liked playing with Transformers and Legos, disc golf, video gaming, fishing and shooting airsoft guns.
Survivors include his mother, Tina Mosley and her husband Shawn; father, David McDaniel and his wife Rachel; sisters, Kaitlyn McDaniel and Emily McDaniel; and Coty, Carissa, Sahar, Nadir, Bar, Roy and Cole; maternal grandparent, Fredia Sorters; paternal grandparents, Linda Bellew and her husband Lee; and great-grandmother, Nita Winters.

Also, as an expression of condolence to the McDaniel family from the Wylie Pirate Pacesetters and McMillan Dazzlers, the Pacesetter Booster Club has established an account to assist Kaitlyn and Emily McDaniel with their drill team expenses. Donations can be made at any American National Bank in the name of Kaitlyn or Emily McDaniel.
Arrangements were under the direction of Charles W. Smith & Sons in Sachse.
