Funeral services for Roberta Lucille Strain Smith were held July 16, 2011, at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Ridgeview Cemetery in Allen. Mrs. Smith died July 13.

She was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Collin County to Grady and Minda Lou Alice Ford Strain. She married J.B. Smith Nov. 7, 1942, in Rockwall.

She retired from E-Systems with over 30 years of service as an Industrial Relations Officer.

Survivors include her husband, J.B. Smith; daughter, Pamela Means; son, Jay Smith; sister, Marjorie Davis; brother, Weldon Strain; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives, along with a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Minda Strain; brother, James Strain; daughter, Rita Ann Smith Geter; and her grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to a favorite charity, the Red Cross or a church building fund.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
