Funeral services for Carol Juanelle Donihoo Sheffield, 76, of Wylie will be held Friday, May 13, 2011, at First United Methodist Church of Wylie. Interment will follow at the Sachse Cemetery in Sachse.
The Rev. Kathryn Strempke will officiate.
Mrs. Sheffield died May 9 in Wylie.
She was born in Dallas to Howard Bruce and Gladys Ann McNiel Donihoo, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Sheffield was a lifetime resident of Dallas, Garland and Wylie. She graduated from North Dallas High School in 1952 and retired from Texas Instruments after a career of more than 30 years, during which she held many positions with the company, including her last assignment in the Customer Response Center.
Mrs. Sheffield was also a member of the Wylie United Methodist Church. According to her family, “She found great joy in reading, affectionately loved stickers of all varieties and had a passion for the musical, ‘Phantom of the Opera.’ ”
Survivors include her children, Debra Baker, Belinda Stewart, Charlie DeMauro and her husband Randy, and Rusty Sheffield and his wife Cheryl; grandchildren, Lorna Bradford and her husband Chris and Russell Baker; great-grandchildren, Garrett Bradford and Sydney Bradford; brothers, Bruce Donihoo and his wife Pat and Tracey Donihoo and his wife Irma; aunt, Virgie McNeil; and uncle, Johnny McNiel and a host of other family and friends.
Arrangements were under the direction of Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to the children’s ministry at Wylie United Methodist Church, 1401 Country Club, Wylie, TX 75098.
