Graveside services for Margaret Barnes, 97, of Garland were held April 8, 2011, at Plano Mutual Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes died April 7.
She was born May 7, 1913, in San Antonio to the late Tom and Edna Power.
She graduated from Santa Rosa Hospital, Class of 1935, as a registered nurse. She worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Laredo and later as a Webb County public health nurse. “She was a very faithful and devoted Christian woman who spent many years serving others in Mexico,” her family said.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Godfrey Norcross Barnes. Survivors include her daughters, Hazel Barnes Dean and her husband Hardy of Fresno and Tommy Barnes Reuthinger and her husband William of Sachse; grandchildren, Deborah Eastwood, Hardy Lee Dean Jr., Tommie Priscilla Mason, William Bradford Reuthinger and William Scott Reuthinger; great-grandchildren, Ricky Wayne Mason, Ronnie Wayne Mason, Bryan Thomas Mason, Amy Reuthinger, Alli Reuthinger; and great-great-grandchildren Grace Mason and Cassidy Mason.
Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Family Funeral Options.
