Funeral services for Anthony Dean “Biff” Johnson, 49, of Leander were held March 29, 2011, at New Hope Baptist Church in Cedar Park.
Interment followed at Four Mile Church Cemetery in Prairieville.
Mr. Johnson was born May 14, 1961, in Chillicothe, Ohio.
At the time of his death, he was serving as the city manager of Leander.
Prior to moving to Leander in 2004, Mr. Johnson was city manger in Wyile. He served as Wylie city manager for seven years.
A graduate of the University of North Texas, he began his career with the city of Richardson as a waterline repairman in 1978 and had also worked for the city of Lancaster.
His family said he was well respected by all who knew and worked with him. “He was admired for his quick wit, known for his strength of character, strong family values and lived every single day to the fullest,” they said.
Survivors include his wife, Serena Johnson; son, Drew Johnson; stepsons, Gavin Troutman and Jaden Troutman of Leander; former wife and mother of his son, Tammi Johnson of Plano; father, Dempsey Johnson and his wife Luna of Kemp; sisters, Tia MacNerland and her husband Richard of Wisconsin, Lisa Jones and her husband Tommy of Wylie and Carla Harrison and her husband Larry of Georgia.; nieces, Caity and Maegan Harrison; nephews, Stephen and Michael MacNerland; and his Uncle Bob and Aunt Nina Barr.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Barr Johnson.
Arrangements were under the direction of Beck Funeral Home in Cedar Park.
