The Rev. Billy Joe Harris, Dr. A.L. Draper and Dr. Kris Segrest officiated.

Mr. Smith died March 8 in Plano.

He was born Sept. 30, 1922, in McKinney to the late Carl Medford Smith and Helen Mae Chandler Smith. He married the late Georgia Louise Harris on Oct. 11, 1941, in McKinney. He was a member of First Baptist Church Wylie. 

Survivors include his sons, Ronnie Carl Smith of Wylie, Gary Lee Smith of Magazine, Ark,. and Nickie Paul Smith of Cumby; daughter, Marilyn Louise Haller of Keller; brothers, Charles Smith of Greenville and Larry Smith of Plano; sister, Mavingen Nix Gilliland of Moss Point, Miss.; 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Georgia Louise Smith; daughter, Phyllis Ramona Starling; and brother, John Smith.
