Funeral services for Thomas Earl Duckworth, 71, were held Jan. 8, 2011, at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Chapel in Sachse.

Mr. Duckworth died Jan. 5 in Dallas.

He was born in Dallas Feb. 9, 1939, to Edward and Orpha Duckworth. He attended school in Blue Ridge and married Carolyn Herod in Copeville in 1993. They made their home in Dallas. Mr. Duckworth delivered  parts for Auto Zone.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Herod-Duckworth;  children Rita McKeeber, Jan Barrows, Sharon Coulter, Tim Redd, Kelly McCown and his wife Dawn and G.K. McCown and his wife Malisa; his mother, Orpha Duckworth; his sisters, Mickey Hansen, Cynthia Jones, Billie Withrow and Jackie McGee; his brothers, Jimmy Duckworth and Donnie Duckworth; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Duckworth and one brother, Paul Duckworth.
