Funeral services for Danielle Lea (Elliot) McGuire, 36, of Forney were held Dec. 23, 2010, at Anderson Clayton Funeral Home Chapel.
Bro. Randy Hardgrave officiated.
Mrs. McGuire died Dec. 20 at her home after a long fight for life. Her husband and close family and friends were with her.
She was born April 24, 1974, in Mesquite to Melvin and Brenda Elliot. She was a graduate of Mesquite High and had a scholarship offer to play volleyball at Texas A&M University.
She was employed at Texas Precision Platting in Garland. Her co-workers and friends said they do and will forever miss her smile and presence. “She made the room light up just walking in,” her co-workers said.
She was an Honorary Lifetime Member of the MC Club – Hustler / Asphalt Angels Westminster Chapter. She was proud of her vest of many patches and colors, her family said. Her vest will be hung in the clubhouse as a memorial to her.
According to family members, her main love besides God was her family. They said her husband, children and all the nieces and nephews, sister and brothers and sisters- and brothers-in-laws loved to be around her. “She always had a smile and her dimples set it off,” they said. “Even during her battle she would open her eyes and give you that smile. No matter how bad she was feeling, she never wanted anyone to suffer worrying about her. She had a constant youth to her. The kid in her shined through all the time and that is what we will miss – her spunk and love for life and a true love for God and her church family and friends. She is a star in heaven. We will all look up and know she is shining on each of us.”
Mrs. McGuire was preceded in death by her mother, Brenda Elliot.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Ray McGuire; two sons, Kyle and Kasey McGuire; her father, Melvin Elliot; two brothers, James Elliot and his wife Shelly and Mark Elliot and his wife Karen; one sister, Sandra Elliot; mother-in-law, Lillian McGuire; and brothers- and sisters-in-law, Buddy and Lawanna McGuire, Donnie and Cathy McGuire, Jay and Brenda McGuire and Greg and Delia McGuire; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
“Our Deno will be missed and remembered by all that ever came in contact with her,” Mrs. McGuire’s family said. “She was and is a true angel watching over us forever. In her famous words, ‘love and peace out, baby!’ ”
