Funeral services for Albert Ray Bayless, 74, of Garland were held Oct. 22, 2010, at Williams Memorial Chapel.  Interment followed at Mills Cemetery.

Mr. Bayless died Oct. 19, 2010.

He was born June 18, 1936, in Rowlett to Albert (AB) and Minnie Ruth (Benson) Bayless.

Mr. Bayless was employed for many years by Chambers Brothers Construction where he was a truck driver. According to his family, he enjoyed working on old cars and loved his family and NASCAR.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patsy (Turley) Bayless of Garland; brother, Ernest (Ernie) Bayless and his wife Rubie of Garland; children, Wayne Ray Bayless and his wife Annette of Garland and Karen Geckler and her husband Bobby of Sachse; grandchildren, Jeremie Bayless and his wife Crystal of Royse City, Kimberly Hardaway and her husband Jason of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kody Bayless and Kyle Bayless of Oklahoma City, Okla., Kristi Geckler and Stacey Geckler of Sachse; five great-grandchildren, Dylon, Blane, Kerra, Brendan and Chasen.  He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Bud, Willard, Frank, James and Raymond; and two sisters, Bessie and Virginia.
