Funeral services for Boyd Delbert Frizzell, 79, of Garland were held Oct. 14, 2010, at the Allen Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights, Ill. 

Dr. A.L. Draper officiated.

Mr. Frizzell died Oct. 11 in Garland.

He was born Aug. 25, 1931, in Paducah, Ky. to the late Boyd Irvin Frizzell and Maude Rhuebena Johnson Frizzell. He married Betty Jane McCarthy Dec. 23, 1954, in Chicago, Ill. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Frizzell of Garland; children, Boyd Frizzell of Garland, Michael Frizzell of Garland, Sheryl Nowicki of Englewood, Fla., Charles Frizzell and his wife Dena of Garland, and Todd Frizzell of Garland; sister, Joann Gladden of Ky.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
