Funeral services for Don Paul Combest, 65, of Venus were held at 10 a.m. Aug. 28, 2010, at the Allen Funeral Home in Wylie.

Mr. Combest died Aug. 6 in Mansfield.

He was born Aug. 27, 1944, in McKinney to Alton Jesse and Lorna Lee Combest (nee Rich).

Don’s family members said his family was very important to him.  He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Geneva N. Combest, and a blended family that he loved very much, they said.

Survivors include his sons, Paul D. Combest of Fort Worth, Michael W. Combest and his wife Kym of Lucas and Tyrone Jennings of Keller; daughters, Mary Hensel and her husband Ronnie of Maypearl and Tracie Perkins and her husband Chad of Midlothian; granddaughters, Kylie Combest, Emily Combest and Jacie Perkins; grandsons, Jacob Perkins, Joshua Perkins, Rylie Hensel and Rusty Hensel; sister, Bettye Weeks and her husband Kerry of Wylie; brother, Lloyd Combest and his wife Mary of Lake Creek; uncles, Ed Combest and his wife Bonnie of McKinney and Billy Combest and his wife Freda of Princeton; aunts, Edith Barnett of Princeton, T.V. Stroud of Princeton; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to cancer research or other charity of choice; donations of blood to local blood banks is also appreciated, they said.
