Funeral services for Charlotte Kay Lunsford of Wylie were held  Dec. 31, 2009, at the Wylie Church of Christ. Interment was held Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas.

Minister Alvis Nichols and Ron Coleman officiated.

Mrs. Lunsford died Dec. 27 in Rowlett.

She was born Jan. 11, 1946, in Nocona to the late Rufus F. Benton and Imogene Cantrell Benton. She married Travis Ray Lunsford Dec. 1, 1964, in Napa, Calif. and was a member of the Wylie Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband Travis Lunsford of Wylie; son, Thomas Lunsford of Arlington; daughter, Lisa “Bree” of McKinney; Mom and Dad Robert and Jo Ann Jeffcoat of Windsor, Mo.; brothers, Winford Benton of Oklahoma City, Okla., Randy Benton of Winfield, Kan.; sisters, Cheryl Brown of Calhoun, Mo., Debra Culinan of Kansas City, Mo. and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations made to the Medina Children’s Home 21300 State Highway 16 North Medina, TX 78056-3808. 

Arrangements were under the direction of Allen Funeral Home of Wylie.
