Funeral services for George Maxwell Housewright, 75, of Stephenville were held July 3, 2010, at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.  

Father Calvin Garvin officiated.

Mr. Housewright died June 30.

He was born Aug. 26, 1934, in Dallas to the late Byron and Waldrine Maxwell Housewright.  He married Pat Clark  April 29, 1961.

Mr. Housewright served in the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from North Texas State University in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in economics and business, earned a master’s degree from Hardin-Simmon University in 1964, and received a Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas in 1972. He taught at Hardin-Simmons and Tarleton State University and was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Pat of Stephenville; son, Byron Housewright of De Pere, Wisc.; and sister, Priscella King of Lubbock.

Memorials may be made to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 595 N. McIlhaney, Stephenville, TX 76401.

Arrangments were under the direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.
