Tammy Parker Carroll

Funeral services for Tammy Parker Carroll, 40, of Rowlett, formerly of Wylie, were held Nov. 10, 2008, at First United Methodist Church of Rowlett. Interment followed at Rockwall Memorial Cemetery.

Pastor Mark Simpson and Pastor Buist Wilson officiated.

Mrs. Carroll died Nov. 6.

She was born July 5, 1968, in Wylie to David and LaNeva (Boyd) Parker.

She was a social work administrator and child advocate. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Her family said she was courageous and vibrant during her two-year battle with breast cancer and always had a smile. “Her gentle spirit continues to touch those who shared her journey to be healed, and her passion for life and happiness will continue to live through her two special children,” they said.

Survivors include her husband of seven years, Bart Carroll; son, Asher Carroll of Rowlett and daughter, Aubree Carroll of Rowlett; mother, LaNeva Vacek and her husband John of Wylie; father, David Parker and his wife Sue of Rowlett; three brothers, Josh Parker of Rowlett, Phil Vacek and his wife Cathy of Houston and Steve Vacek of Houston; father-in-law, Kenny Yee and his wife Cindy of Dallas and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers and fellow church members.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Hannah Grace, in 2003 and grandparents, L.V. and Eula Mae Parker, A.D. “Buck” and Gene Boyd.
