Makenzie Darby was selected by the American Legion Auxiliary Post 321 to represent Wylie High School at the 2012 Bluebonnet Girls State Session.  

She spent a week at Texas Lutheran University working with girls from across the state as self-governing citizens. They were citizens of the fictitious 51st state where they organized their own city, county and state governments.  

Makenzie was appointed Committee Chairwoman of Energy Resources for the House of Representatives and elected councilwoman for her city. The last day of camp, the girls visited the State Capitol were they meet state officials and assembled in the halls of our legislative bodies to conduct their state business.
