Wylie and Wylie East sent cross country teams to “The Sting” at Rockwall’s Harry Myers’ Park. Rockwall, North Forney and Wylie East finished in the top three for the boys; Forney, Rockwall and North Forney were top three teams for the girls.

Sarah Scott ran away from the competition to claim yet another gold medal. The sophomore posted a time of 12:49 on the 2-mile course. Teammate Leslie Snider finished 44th with a 15:31.
Grant Buley placed fifth in the boys 5K race. Buley’s time of 17:29 helped the Raiders to a third-place finish out of 14 teams. Other strong performances came from team members Lehi Palencia (20th, 18:44), Edwin Walker (21st, 18:46), Mark Pollard (43rd, 19:43), Drago Janjic (53rd, 20:18) and Hunter Black (65th, 20:49).
Gabriel Hernandez led the JV Raiders. After him were D.J. Harris, Chance Grantham and Bryar Barnes.
Sara Simmons placed first in the JV girls division with a time of 14:53.
