The Wylie Chamber of Commerce is planning a Veterans Memorial to be placed in Olde City Park.

This memorial will honor all of those who have served in each of the branches of service, Chamber officials said.

In order to personally recognize as many veterans as possible who are near and dear to the hearts of Wylie, the Chamber is offering an opportunity for inidividuals, businesses and families to purchase a pavestone brick in honor of service members. The bricks will will be used to pave the walkway of the memorial.

Stones may be purchased on-line or an order form can be downloaded via the Chamber Web site www.wyliechamber .org.

Cost is $100 but donations in any amount will be accepted.

The memorial will include a monument that will read: “Dedicated to the men and women who have served our great nation in times of war and peace. As grateful citizens of that nation, we pledge never to forget the sacrifices made for our freedomes.
“All gave some, some gave all.”
