The Pirates were upset at Rockwall 24-17 in overtime and the Raiders were run over by Highland Park 66-12.
It was a night of upsets with Rockwall Heath going down 34-31 at McKinney. J.J. Pearce ruined homecoming festivities at McKinney North 52-49.
With Friday’s developments, the Scots are leading District 10-4A with a 2-0 record and Wylie East stands 0-2. The other six teams are even at 1-1 each.
The Pirates will look to regroup Oct. 8 at Highland Park and the Raiders hope to get to their feet when they bring in Pearce for homecoming.
