James and Betty McAfee of Wylie will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with their family July 16.

The McAfees were married July 16, 1960, at the Houston and Pease Church of Christ in Vernon.

Mr. McAfee, a 1959 graduate of Vernon High School, is retired, but stays busy working part-time as a freelance golf writer and tournament administrator. Mrs. McAfee, a 1960 graduate of Vernon High School, currently works part-time at the Richardson East Church of Christ in Richardson.

The McAfees have three daughters, Lorri Young, Jamie McAfee and Tamara Penny, and seven grandchildren.
