Boo on Ballard rescheduled

The threat of storms has forced the postponement of the Wylie Downtown Merchants Association's Boo on Ballard event.

The Halloween event will now be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in the downtown area.

"We hope everyone can still participate in the event," said Janice Martz, WDMA secretary.

Ballard Avenue throught the downtown Wylie area will close at 4:30 p.m. Friday to accommodate the festival.

A Wylie Police command post will be set up at Bart Peddicord Community Center, 100 W. Oak St.

The Halloween Costume Contest for children, adults and pets will be from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at 114 N. Ballard Ave.

East Fork Masonic Lodge will have BBQ and drinks for sale near the intersection of Ballard and Oak.

Carnival games hosted by New Hope Christian Church will be located at Oak and Ballard near the Community Center and there will be a jump zone in the center's parking lot.

Gateway Community Church Band will be playing at the corner of Oak and Ballard and  the First Baptist Church Wylie Band will be at Marble and Ballard.
